Vinyl from T. William’s Vault Vol. I
Posted by T. William Gooch in Alternative, Electronic, Indie Rock, On The Couch Mixtape on June 5, 2011
Last week my girlfriend was perusing through my collection of vinyl and as she made her way through, the small yet diverse collection, she started to place albums aside that she would like to have copies of. At the time getting her a copy of the chosen didn’t seem like a very big project, because I had assumed that I had digital copies of all, if not most, of them.
David Bazan, Mixtapes, Modest Mouse, Passion Pit, Pixies, Ra Ra Riot, Say Hi, The Decemberists, The Postal Service

T. William’s Top 10 Albums of Twenty Ten
Last week Rune posted his top ten for our readers here On the Couch, so now it is now my turn to submit in my list. Notice that we aren’t numbering our lists, because we don’t see the difference between number 10 and number two. If it makes the list then we are pretty sure it is an album that should be listened to, if you haven’t yet.
Later this month I would think that we will each select our album’s of the year, because we want show some more love to the album that we listened to the most.
Below are ten albums that were released in 2010 that I paid money for and religiously listed to throughout the year.
All Day, Arts, Chiddy Bang, Deftones, Diamond Eyes, Erykah Badu, Eyelid Movies, Girl Talk, How I Got Over, John Legend, LCD Soundsystem, Menomena, Mines, Music, New Amerykah Part Two, Opposite of Adults, Phantogram, Ra Ra Riot, The Orchard, The Preview, The Roots, This is Happening, Wake Up!
Monday Mornin’ Melody – Ra Ra Riot “Boy”
Posted by T. William Gooch in Alternative, Indie Rock on August 23, 2010
Monday Mornin’ Melody is back!!! My deepest apologies for missing last week but I had returned from a road trip late Sunday night and didn’t have time to put together a post.
But I am back now and just in time to let you know the Ra Ra Riot will be releasing their sophomore album tomorrow!!! It is titled “Orchard” and from the sounds of it, they have improved sonically from “The Rhumb Line”.
Today’s tune is the first single off the new album, titled “Boy” and just last week they released the official music video. I think this song is perfect for a Monday morning because of its uptempo beat and the airy lyrics. Sometimes it nice to have music that doesn’t require the listener to have total focus on the song.
Sorry about the last vid getting blocked by “The Orchard Music” this vid should work
PS
The Independent Film Channel has posted a feature about the Ra Ra Riot documentary, the making of the orchard on their website. The documentary will be included on a DVD in the limited-edition versions of the band’s upcoming release, the orchard, due out August 24.

I have reached my limit. Reading other blogs on music has wore me down. I need to express my opinion and give recommendations on good music. This blog, I hope, fills that void I have felt after being off the radio for two years.
For my first post I would like to share a track from Barsuk artist Ra Ra Riot. It is a remix of “Too Too Too Fast” by label-mate Say Hi and it has captured my imagination on how great Say Hi could be at remixes. I love his original work but any way I can get Eric producing more music the better my life will be.
Enjoy
