Summer Recap
Posted by musicthevanderwey in Alternative, Emo, Indie Rock, New Releases on September 12, 2011
Summer is over. Labor Day has come and past and I can finally put all of my bright colors and white back in the wardrobe and bust out the black! I want to go over some of my favorite albums of the summer and some new releases that were disappointments. For me, this summer didn’t have any major new albums that stole my heart. I was listening to a lot of the albums that came out last summer. Mainly The Thermals, Stars, and The Dead Weather.
Time for a September Mix

Friday was rough. It marks a month since my last radio show. But since I moved to Vermont I’m not going to be doing any radio shows or spinning any records for quite sometime. My only release will be putting out some mixes for our dedicated On The Couch readers to enjoy. There was something absolutely magical about getting off of work and heading into the radio studios to put on a great radio show. It was completely relaxing and a great way to end the work week.

Top 10 of Twenty Ten The Vander Wey
I listened to Christmas music for about five minutes before getting the dry heaves. Not even a little Weird Al “The Night When Santa Went Crazy” calmed my nerves. I switched it over to The Killers, who have four solid Christmas songs, but nothing worked. I had to turn it over to British Sea Power, they have a new EP out entitled “Zeus”.
British Sea Power are a fantastic post modern rock band out of the UK. This band is magical if you have a bumping sound system that can really show off all of the depth and breadth of their tracks.
