Friday Night Beats

Dance Party Anyone?

Friday night is the most magical night of the week, I mean they only happen once every seven days. They mark the end of the work week when everyone wants to get out the house and blow off some stress and create some havoc. Many flock to their local watering holes and get assaulted by soulless dance pop. I can see the pain on people’sĀ faces who enjoy real music. They are usually twisted in horror and shame for dancing to a Katy Perry song. I’ve even seen a couple of indie rock chicks stop at the end of a particularly bad song to start miming blowing each others brains out in a last-ditch effort to stop the pain.

Music The Vander Wey’s New Electro Pop Mix

I’m going through djing withdrawals again. I’ve started jonesing and getting the shakes. Lately, I’ve been falling into the spacey fantastic world of electro pop. Its great to dance to, relax to, and even better to study to.The other bizarre thing I find when I am on an electro pop binge is that it makes life feel like a movie. Everything is kinda special and unearthly. What it does is create a soundtrack to life, which is something special.

This mix is a boiled down version, nine tracks of epic indie rock goodness.

Click the skull to hear the mix!

Time for a September Mix

Friday was rough. It marks a month since my last radio show. But since I moved to Vermont I’m not going to be doing any radio shows or spinning any records for quite sometime. My only release will be putting out some mixes for our dedicated On The Couch readers to enjoy. There was something absolutely magical about getting off of work and heading into the radio studios to put on a great radio show. It was completely relaxing and a great way to end the work week.

Summer Comes To An End

Ok so it is still very warm outside and probable will remain that way for another couple of weeks, but summer officially ends for me once college football starts. Last night I was at the Montana State at Utah game, and I definitely felt like the season has changed. With that I felt it was time to make a new mixtape. Today’s tape is a reflection of the music I have been listening to lately not necessarily because it reminds me of autumn, though there is a band on the mix with “Autumn” in their name.
