Generationals Release Video for “Spinoza”, Announce Tour Dates
Posted by T. William Gooch in Alternative, Indie Rock, Rock on May 27, 2013

Generationals
After releasing Heza back in April, the Generationals unveiled the video for “Spinoza” last week. The video was directed by Luther Gooch (no relation) and was shot entirely on a GoPro camera in the band’s hometown of New Orleans, LA.
Along with the exciting announcement of the video, they have released the dates and sites of their upcoming Summer tour. I have to say that I am very interested to see them live and luckily enough they will be making a stop in Salt Lake City in the middle of June. For all our Montana readers be sure to catch them when they are in Missoula.

Throwback Thursday: The Toadies – Possum Kingdom
Posted by T. William Gooch in Alternative on May 16, 2013
It is Thursday and it is time to take a trip back in time to my high school days. This selection was a favorite among my peers and a few of my friends went so far as to learn in on their guitars to impress the girls
This morning on my bike ride to work I was listening to Girl Talk’s All Day, which is a great way to rediscover some nostalgic tracks. He uses “Possum Kingdom” has the melody behind multiple artists on track number five “This is the Remix”. Hearing the familiar tune I was inspired to find it on YouTube and I have had it on repeat for the last hour.
So without further ado I give you The Toadies “Possum Kingdom”
ADVENTURES’ “PROMISE” TAKES ME BACK TO MY YOUTH
Posted by T. William Gooch in Alternative, Hardcore, post-hardcore on May 15, 2013
Pittsburgh based indie-rock band ADVENTURES have announced they will be releasing a new EP, Clear My Head With You, on June 18 via No Sleep Records. “Promise” is the first single and fans are invited to pre-order the EP on vinyl 7” now at nosleeprecords.com/clearmyheadwithyou.
Recently I have been on a steady diet of Finch, Taking Back Sunday, and From Autumn to Ashes. It seems like the majority of submissions we are getting are from folk inspired indie bands, and they haven’t really driven me to write about them just because the music doesn’t match my mood as of late. “Promise” struck a chord in my heart because of the raw emotion in the vocals and simple yet meaningful march of the drums.
ADVENTURES features members Jami, Reba and Joe from reputable Deathwish Records hardcore band Code Orange Kids who, along with friends Kimi and Dominic, formed in early 2012. Only a few months later, the band recorded their debut self-titled EP and signed with No Sleep Records.
”Promise” is the first song we wrote past our last 7″ and quickly became a favorite among all of us and our friends,” says Jami. “It is not necessarily similar in sound to the rest of the songs on the record but it was the beginning of the process. The song is about making promises to yourself and letting them blow away out of weakness and anxiety.
PS
It feels good to be back

It’s good to get my hands on some new music, particularly music that is very difficult to categorize. Such as Other People’s Problems the first full length album from the English indie rock group Breton. I really dig it.

I received an email today to alert me that the Dum Dum Girls have released “Lord Knows”, the first single off their upcoming EP End of Daze. First of all I LOVE IT WHEN I GET GOOD EMAILS!!! It seems like email is usually spam or work these days, but this particular message offered me hope that electronic mail isn’t a nagging reminder that the outside world sucks.
Mumford & Sons Newsflash
Posted by musicthevanderwey in Alternative, Indie Rock, New Releases on July 30, 2012
Go ahead and mark down September 24th as the big day that Mumford & Sons big sophomore album, Babel, drops. There is still scant information on what the album is going to sound like or even if Mumford & Sons is going to be headed in a new direction. But I was able to find the official track listing for Babel:

I have been told numerous times from people in the music business that
