Julian Plenti Is… Skyscraper

I was going through and listening to my Interpol vinyl the other day when it occurred to me that some out there may not know of the solo project Julian Plenti Is… Skyscraper, put out by the lead singer. If you are a huge Interpol fan, you are gonna want to find a copy.

Silversun Pickups: Neck Of The Woods

I have to admit that I am facing a bit of writer’s block when it comes to this Neck Of The Woods. Why? I just don’t know exactly how I feel about it. Upon the first listen, all I could make out that the album is dramatically different from previous releases from Silversun Pickups.

Before I even get a chance to hear the first song, I notice that the album art is completely different from any thing before, which is a serious bummer. Swoon and Carnavas had beautiful inspiring album art. It was so cool that it was even reflected and reproduced on the tour t-shirts! Why ruin a good thing?

In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull

This is the hardest blog post I’ve ever had to pen. It is so tempting to just gush for pages about how incredible In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull really is. (That is exactly what I ended up doing) But the fact of the matter is, The Cribs are my favorite band. Sometimes I think they can do no wrong. So if you are looking for an objective review of ITBOTBB look elsewhere.

Jack White: Blunderbuss

I’ve listened to Jack White‘s first solo album Blunderbuss a million times. I still can’t figure it out. Blunderbuss is totally bizarre and weird. But most importantly it is utterly bewitching.

The Cribs Live

I am continuing my current binge of The Cribs. I saw them live in Boston last week! Now to be completely honest… they are my favorite band. So this post will be filled with one-sided gushing about their rocking awesomeness. There will be little to no objective reporting. Who needs objectivity when faced with The Cribs?

The Cribs On Daytrotter

In a little less than a week I get to go see my favorite band, The Cribs, play in Boston. For the past couple of months I’ve been gushing about how fantastic their new album, In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull is going to be. It just so happens that one of my favorite music websites, Daytrotter, live streamed The Cribs session on their website. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my Easter Monday than sitting back and listening to a live recording session with The Cribs.

Come On And Be A No One

Well I finally hurt myself singing. All thanks to The Cribs latest rocking single coming off of their upcoming album In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull, entitles “Come On Be And No One.” The Cribs released this single back at the end of February, and ever since I cannot go a single day without it.

Last week, The Cribs released a video to go along with “Come On And Be A No One.” I just have to say how great it is to listen to a band that is real. I don’t want to get into a debate about what is and what isn’t real. But the simple fact of the matter is The Cribs go to great lengths to just play the track how they would live. Most other band’s tracks are edited by computers and witchcraft. “Come On And Be A No One” is pure unadulterated brilliance.

Now Presenting: Turf War

All winter, I’ve felt like I’ve been locked in a dance hall and forced to listen to top forties till my ears bleed. Thank god its spring time and I can escape! The only way to purge yourself of that non-sense is to buckle down with some punk rock. A couple of months ago I started listening to this fantastic indie punk band called Turf War. They have one album that dropped back in October entitled Years Of Living Dangerously. With warm weather on the horizon, there is nothing like letting yourself go with some good head banging punk rock.
