Now Presenting: Love Is Chemicals

Alright its time to fall into the deep fiery chasm of hipster indie rock. I’ve been going back through my music library and listening and re-listening to numerous bands. I’m sitting back and waiting for numerous albums to drop this spring, in the mean time I’m killing time. This week, I’ve stumbled onto one of my obscure favorites from back in 2008, an album called Song of The Summer Youth Brigade from the awesome band Love Is Chemicals.

Moonlight Bride: Twin Lakes

Chattanooga based noise-pop band Moonlight Bride will release their new EP, Twin Lakes, on Feb 28th. But because this blog is so über cool I was forwarded a copy of the EP before the release date. Yes… yes the On the Couch crew gets stuff early, I can’t believe it either.

The Twilight Sad: No One Can Ever Know

I absolutely adore The Twilight Sad‘s last two albums Forget The Night Ahead and Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters, but now they have a brand spanking new album out entitled No One Can Ever Know. The big headline with the new album is that it is a dramatic detour from their previous albums.

Jack White Solo Album?!

Holy shit son of a bitch! Yesterday, Jack White has announced that his new solo album, Blunderbuss, is set to drop on April 23rd. Blunderbuss will be released through his label, Third Man Records. This news comes nearly a year after the announcement that The White Stripes were breaking up. You can read about my heart-break over that break up HERE.

 

Frankly, I am surprised that Jack White went ahead with a solo album. He already has two amazing, cutting edge bands: The Dead Weather and The Raconteurs. Since The White Stripes broke up, Jack White has spent his time writing music and producing records. He is a top man in his field of rocking awesomeness.
