After nearly a decade without a new album, the legendary Irish rock band, The Cranberries are coming back in a big way; with a release of their sixth full length album entitled Roses. The new album is due out on February 14th.
Personally, The Cranberries were the first rock group I ever loved. It started back in first grade when I heard their ever popular yet disliked song “Zombie.” That song got stuck… in my head for weeks. I even have a journal entry from first grade chronically this event. Since then I was a diehard Cranberries fan. In high school, I listened to “Analyse” about a ba-jillion times. More embarrassingly, Dolores O’Riordan might be the largest reason why I was able to sing all the soprano parts in middleschool choir. Not tenor… but soprano.
The Cranberries had been deathly quite since their last album release back in 2001 Wake Up and Smell The Coffee. After that last album the band split up. The band members started to work on solo projects. The lead singer Dolores released two solo albums Are You Listening? and No Baggage. But back in 2009 started a reunion tour. The Cranberries have come full circle with this new album release.
There isn’t a whole lot we know about the upcoming album Roses. A few details have emerged. First is that it was recorded in Toronto instead of Ireland. there will be eleven tracks on the album. I was able to dig up the track listing for Roses along with a brief preview.
