Holy crap it seems like forever since we last posted some hip-hop on the blog. Spring in rolling in it is time for some feel good music for sure and I think I have just the suggestion for our readers.
I first heard XV about a year and a half ago, when I downloaded his 30 Minute Layover mixtape. It was kind of weird because I was listening to Chiddy Bang’s Air Swell mixtape and both have a lot of references to the culture of air travel. So it felt like everything I was listening to was talking about layovers, single serving drinks, and neck pillows. After a couple of months of listening I was hooked on XV’s style. He does a great job of using witty references to nerd culture at the same time keeping his edge.
I am having a particularly awesome weekend so far and XV’s new mixtape Zero Heroes only amplifying the good feelings. So give “Awesome” a listen and if you like what you hear be sure to download the whole mixtape for free.
