The Hush Now

Last week on my radio show, Music The Vander Wey, I encountered The Hush Now for the first time. I played a wonderfully poppy indie rock track entitle “The Other Ones”. It had just enough pop-flavor to get stuck in my head for a couple of days. The aforementioned track is off the Boston indie rock quintet’s newest EP Shiver Me Starships. Although out of the six songs on EP, it was “For What It’s Worth” that left the biggest impression on me.

“For What It’s Worth” is a fantastic track because its slower, spacier, and perfect to chill out with after a hard day. In fact, I’m embarrassed to report that I actually had an emotional response to the song the first time I listened to it while staring at a sunset. It’s a fantastic tune and a quality introduction to the band.

But I’m going to leave you fine folks with “The Other Ones” and hopefully it will get stuck in your head as well. Use this song to hide your shame because I know “Just Dance” by Lady Gaga has been running through your head for days. The Hush Now’s full length album, Constellations, was released September 2010.

Music the Vander Way is streamed live on KGLT (we will inform you when the show will be on again)
